What?! New Beyblade DVDs?!!

This is a useless fangirl rant journal. FEEL FREE TO IGNORE!

I was surfing DA and came across that Nelvana is supposed to be dubbing the new Metal Fight Series straight to DVD. I'm not sure if it's true, but... as someone who's iffy on the MFS to begin with, I hope they make it as good as the original dubbed series with TONS OF CAMPY, SUBTEXT-Y GOODNESS! I'll buy the first one and we'll go from there!

Now, I know a lot of people like an anime series to be "true to the Japanese" or whatever, but for kids' shows, I like dubbed. I am a sucker for shonen action and simple, but subtle complex storylines (which is why I can't get into Byakugan or Battle B-Daman). I admit I wish they wouldn't cut out so much, but on the whole, they translate well for their demographic. As much as fans like "keeping it literal" (don't GO there with me), remember who the target audience is. They're kids, not teens, tweens, or adults, but KIDS. So relax that skepticism!

I mean, as a little kid who loved Sailor Moon, when I found out that Serena's name was really Usagi Tsukino, I thought that was a stupid name. Who names their kid "Usagi"? It's so weird to a North American nine-year-old! I appreciate NOW though. And I like the puns of Pokemon names. They're cute! They just need to be cleverly chosen. And was I the only one who was impressed with the complete re-make of the Sailor Moon and Beyblade soundtracks? For their demographic, they did a bang up job. Although... some of it... ^^;

And English can sometimes make it a whoooole lot better in the laughs department. *cough*Beyblade/Yu-Gi-Oh!*cough*

I watched Beyblade and Sailor Moon in both languages, and I still prefer English. As well as Chinese and Tagalog, but that hilarity is saved for another day. :D

:iconalannacrystal: Admittedly, I don't chat with you about art much. *bricked* I like you for your honest outlook, keeping me up-to-date on Beyblade news (Squee! Fangirling!), encouragement, and critique. We all need people like you to give us feedback and just play around sometimes. I mean, what's art/anime/comics without discussion?

Sooo agree with you there. Although, I stopped watching after... G Revolution? I think it was. Are the series after that any good?

What in the name of Pegasus' frilly white boxer shorts has that got to do with the price of cheese?

I don't think so, unfortunately. It's kind of hard to make a comeback with a series unless there is a HUGE fanbase like X-Men or something like that.

I love Saturday morning cartoons. :D

I haven't even checked out the Metal Fight Series since it has never been subbed into English and I'm just not that into it. At least, not yet. Something needs to get me addicted first. :D

I know what you mean. I even personally prefer the English dub of Cardcaptor Sakura, Cardcaptors, I actually think the ending of the series (sans the opening for that diabetic coma second movie) was more meaningful than the original one

you know what would be great; if they released all of V Force and released the rest of G Rev on DVD as well

:S

Where did you hear that they're doing a direct to DVD release then?

Admittedly, ~alannacrystal's journal. But she usually gets her data from Beyblade Spirit or BBUK. And they're quite dependable.

Still, even if it isn't true, getting my hopes up like that isn't a big deal to me. ^_^
